"When I Look At You" Miley Cyrus
Everybody needs inspiration,Everybody needs a songA beautiful melodyWhen the nights so longCause there is no guaranteeThat this life is easy...Yea when my world is falling apartWhen there's no light to break up the darkThat's when I, I...I look at youWhen the wavesAre flooding the shore and I can'tFind my way home anymoreThat's when I, I...I look at youWhen I look At You I see forgivenessI see the truthYou love me for who I amLike the stars Hold the moonRight there where they belongAnd I Know I'm Not Alone.Yea when my world is falling apartWhen there's no light to break up the darkThat's when I, I...I look at youWhen the wavesAre flooding the shore and I can'tFind my way home anymoreThat's when I, I...I look at youYou appear just like a dream to meJust like Kaleidoscope colors thatCover Me, All I need everyBreath that I breathe don't you knowYou're beautiful...Yea Yea YeaWhen the wavesAre flooding the shore and I can'tFind my way home anymoreThat's when I, I...I look at youI look at youYea Yea Oh OH OHAnd you appear Just like a dreamTo me.
In the song "When I Look At You" by Miley Cyrus there are many poetic devices including hyperbole in the lines "Like the stars Hold the moon", "When my world is falling apart", "When theres no light to break up the dark", "Just like kaleidoscope colors that cover me". This is an example of hyperbole because it is an exaggeration of love, how she needs him and he takes her breath away. He's all she can think about. It's an exaggeration of stress and he can go on with out her. She is his world. He goes together like the moon and the stars and light and darkness. There is also symbolism in the lyrics "When the waves are flooding the shore" and "You appear just like a dream to me". These are examples of symbolism because the waves ingulf the shore. They are taking them in. This symbolises the engulffing love he has for her. "You appear just like a dream to me" symbolises perfect love together and happiness. There is also personification in the lyrics "Like the stars hold the moon" and "Kaleidoscope colors that cover me" This is giving human qualities to inadiment objects like the stars holding the moon and colors that cover me up. There is a tone that is set of love and inspiration in this song using the words "Beautiful melody", "When I look at you I see forgiveness I see the truth you love me for who I am", "When I can't find my way home anymore that's when I, I...I look at you" "All I need every breath that I breath don't you know your beautiful" This sets the tone of realtionships and love using those words. The lyrics of the song read as a poem using ryming words like song and long, apart and dark, shore and anymore. This song, "When I Look At You" by Miley Cyrus is one of the most poetic songs because it uses so many poetic divices in just one little song such as imagrey, alliteration, hyperbole, mood, personification, symbolism, tone and has ryming stanzas like a poem.

The Worst song ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The worst song ever is "I got the Power" by Snap because it repeats the words "It's gettin' it's gettin' it's gettin' kinda heavyIt's gettin' it's gettin' it's gettin' kinda heavyIt's gettin' it's gettin' it's gettin' kinda heavyIt's gettin' it's gettin' it's gettin' kinda heavy" way to much. Also they repeat the words "I got the power" way to much in the song and they repeats the words "ohohohoho". This song is so annoying it gives me a headache. The song doesn't make much sense and it's not really about anything. This song I'm not intrested in and I thought the only words to the song were "I got the power", I didn't even realize that there were other lyrics because all I hear was that annoying repeating over and over again. This was the first hit single the band ever had in Germany. This was a #1 dance song so they say. I don't like the song for it's lyrics or it's melody. It is just overall bad, boring, dumb you name it.

"First Real Love"
I met a boy. I knew he was the one. I fell head over heals for him. He was nice I was shy. Being around him all the time got me less shy. I felt confretable around him. I know he would never break my heart. I said I love you he said love you too. But did I really know what love was? It was my first realationship. I was young. It was my first real crush. I felt all warm inside. I had a big smile on my face when he walked in the room I knew was the one. I thought we would be together forever.

Allusion, Ambiguity and Allegory
The song "If We Were A Movie" by Hannah Montana shows Ambiguity in the line "Uh oh, there you go again talking cinematic" You can talk cinematically. This means a person can talk in many different ways. Talking in ways to impress.
The song "You and Me Together" by Hannah Montana has examples of Ambiguity in the line "Anyone can have a day when their heart is on their sleeve" Your heart can really be on your sleeve. You can't rip out your heart and put it on your sleeve.
The song "Incomplete" by The Backstreet Boys is a good example of Allusion in the lines "I'm awake but my world is half asleep" Half the world can't be asleep. When the world is asleep the whole thing is out not just half of it.
The song "I knew I Loved You" by Savage Garden has a good example of Allegory in the line "I knew I loved you before I met you" You can't love someone untill you get to know the person.

Verbal Irony
The song 'Why Can't I' by Liz Phair has Verbal Irony. In the line "Isn't this the part of breakin' up Finding someone else you can't get enough of Someone who wants to be with you too" shows an example of Verbal Irony. This is a good example because she wants to break up but he doesn't.

Paradox
The song 'It's Not Over' by Daughty has an example of a Paradox. In the line "Cause a part of me is dead and in the ground". This is an example of an Paradox because, what part of you can be dead? When you die your whole body dies, not just one part.

Alliteration and Hyperbole
An Example of Alliteration with Consonance is in the song Mamma Mia by ABBA
In the lyrics "Mamma mia, here I go again My My, how can I resist you?" It is a good example because it repeated consonant sound.
In the song Maybe I'm Amazed by Paul McCartney there is a hyperbole in line 4. When he says "Baby I'm amazed at the way you pulled me out of time hung me on a line" This is a good example because there is exaggeration in the line, "Hung me on a line". It's difficult to be hung on a line.
In the song "First Time I Saw Your Face" by Roberta Flack in line 2 when she says "I thought the sun rose in your eyes" is an hyperbole

My two songs with Imagery
My first song that I chose was "When I Llook at You'', by Miley Cyrus. This song has examples of Imagery. The first example of Imagery is in the lyrics "Yea when my world is falling apart when there's no light to break up the dark that's when I, I... I look at you". Another example is
''when the waves are flooding the shore and I can't find my way home anymore that's when I, I... I look at you''. Another example is ''When I look at you I see forgiveness I see the truth You love me for who I am Like the stars hold the moon" "Righ there where they belong and I know I'm not alone''. Another example is "You appear just like a dream to me just like kaleidoscope colors that cover me, all I need every breath that I breathe don't you know You're beautiful...''
